Have you been watching these financial commercials targeting Baby Boomers?
Well, I think it's a little late to be advising BOOMERS to start investing in financial securities. If you're already past 50 and you haven't started saving money for retirement, it's a bit too late to start accumulating significant amounts of money. The reality is most of us will simply have to work longer.
And secondly, money is only one of many important issues we BOOMERS need to have a strategy for. What about Health Care? How safe are alternative medicines? What are the critical issues in selecting a place to live? Pros & cons of US cities vs.. international living? What are some options if you may require assisted living? How about sensible ways to continue making money after you've "retired?" We'll give some specific recommendations on home businesses and part-time work. We'll address ways to keep in touch with family and friends. We'll discuss recreation and exercise -- mental as well as physical. What are strategies for sustainable living?--that is, ways to live economically and efficiently to make our retirement money last longer.
These are some of the issues this web site intends to explore -- with YOUR help. We want it to be a dynamic information source -- continually being updated by us and you, the reader -- a site where a variety of ideas can be shared. What we want to do is start a dialog with YOU on how all of us can approach this major transition in life in a graceful, intelligent and sustainable manner. Click on CONTACT US and send us your thoughts. We'll add them to the appropriate page of the web site.
We'll start this off. But, WARNING, this website is not intended for anyone under the age of 50, or over the income of, say, a million beaners. In either case, you probably don't need any advice. You'll do just fine.
With 75 million baby BOOMERS (born 1946-1964) looking to retire, we do need a plan. And that's what this web site is all about -- comprehensive strategies for successful retirement living.
BOOMERS comprise nearly 28% of the adult US population
