Remember the children’s fable about the country mouse visiting his cousin in the city? It didn’t work out well for the country mouse. The city drove him crazy and he couldn’t wait to get back home to his tranquil country life.
Well, it’s the same with us humans – but in spades.
Elena and I have tried both. Growing up in big cities (Chicago and Pittsburgh), we found small town living not to our liking. But it took us five or six years of living in a small town in Mexico for this to sink in.
We spent years vacationing in Mexico and finally settled on building a home in San Miguel de Allende.
